Alex Fleming, b. 1985 and based in Lancashire, England.
I mainly do graphite drawings. I very occasionally have a go with brushes.
I’ve always loved snapping away with my camera. When I draw, it’s very often a nod to my entry-level photography hobby – the moment captured, the composition, the detail, etc. Perhaps even embracing faults, like lens flare. The results can vary, often depending on what, if anything, I’ve decided to adjust before drawing.
A piece can take up to 100 hours to complete, depending on the size and complexity.
I rarely worry about what to draw. People, local scenes and animals are worthy subjects, to name a few. If an image affects me in some way, I’m interested and I’ll draw it.
